Bom Marley
Bob Marley is one of the greatest stars in the world of music. He was born in
Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, in 1945. His mother named him Robert Nesta
Marley but he was always known as Bob Marley.
The boy grew up with his mother in a very poor area of Kingston called Trenchtown. Life there was very hard. He began to sing and play the guitar, and when he was only nineteen he made his first record. A year later he formed a trio with two friends, Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingstone. They called themselves “The Wailers”. Their song, composed by Bob Marley, and sung and played by the three men, were about life in Trenchtown.
Bob Marley and the Wailers became very popular in Jamaica. His songs with their political message and strong rhythm made him a national hero. And this new reggae music was soon popular outside Jamaica too. In the 1970s, Bob Marley signed a music contract in Britain and after that he became famous all over the world. Everyone knew about the singer, guitarist and composer from Jamaica. Everyone recognised the Rasta man with his hair in dreadlocks. Everyone danced to his famous songs “No Women, No Cry” and “I Shot the Sheriff”.
In 1977 he contracted cancer in the foot. Four years later he died. He wasn’t forty years old yet. But his music live on.

Religion in Britain
The Church of England is the offical religion in England. Was established in the
16th century under Henry VIII by the Act of Supremacy (1534). Henry VIII made
the Church independent from Rome after the Pope refused to grant him a divorce
from first wife Catherine who did not give him a son. He himself became the Head
of the Church of England and since that time Catholicism has never been restored
to England again. Thus, England has become one of the most importaant Protestant
powers in Europe. The Roman Catholic system of government is etained with
archbishops, bishops etc. The senior clergy are appointed by the sovereing on
the recommendation of the Primes Minister, and the Archbishop of Canterbury is
the religious head of the Church of England. The followers of this religion are
called Anglicans. Apart from the Anglican church there are also Free Churches
in Britain. A good example is the
Church of Scotland. Ulike the Church of England, it is free to control its own
eligious matters and all its members have equal status. The church is locally
governed by the so called Kirk Session. The prevalent religion in Ireland used to be Catholicism.
Howeve, since the English gained control of Northern Ireland, the Protestants
have become a real power. Nowadays there are still conflicts between Catholics
and Protestants in Northern Ireland. In the peiod of violence more than 3000 people have died. Terrorist violence is mainly caused
by the Catholic Irish Republican Army and Ulster Volunteer
Force. Althought the official religion in Britain is Christianity, there are
also other growing religions in the United Kindom, among othes Islam, Hinduism,
Sikhism or Judaism. In contrast to Christianis who rarely go to church, Muslims,
Hindus, Sikhs and Jews are more likely to pactise their religion.

My concept of successful life
Life that we live is the most important gift we have ever received. It is vital
to spend it in harmony with our conscience and people we share our life with.
Everyone has his own concept of life and aims he tries to
reach.
Nowadays, not only does the social position or degree of education indicate the range of success life. These days money is a crucial factor that determines the success. So it is rather obvious that most of young people associate their concept for life with money.
This topic forced me to think of my concept for successful living. I have to admit it was the first time I considered my very future life. At my age the image of real life is rather faint. We have no opportunities to try it out. Everything we know is just what we hear from parents or see around.
Personally I adopted some general aims. These are studies, work and family. I am aware of the fact that my future plans are not original, but for me are a base on which I will try to settle my life. I expect my degree to give me a well-paid, satisfying and interesting job, but I would like to emphasize that money isn't all I'm looking forward. In my opinion the most essential part of human's life is family. It should be a springboard from ordinary and common problems and complications. I hope I would find support and understanding in my family.
Summing up, I'd like to say that present has come up with very harmful fashion that people try to find their happiness in earning as much money as they only can. I believe that my future life will not be a race for higher salary and hope to find lucky future.

Differences between Poland and Scotland
Many countries differ in a lot of details. We can focus our attention on such
differences like holidays, types of food, relationships in family, political
system etc. In case of Poland and Scotland we have also differences and it is
what I am going to present.
Firstly, major difference is political system. In our country we have multi-parties parlamental system. In Great Britain only two parties exist. Heads of countries are the second difference. In Poland it is president, in Scotland – queen. It is connected with type of country. Poland is a republic and Scotland – a parlamental monarchy.
Now I am going to write about Easter and Easter Monday. In Scotland in this day tradition of waffle water on girls does not exist. In Poland it is truly popular and well-known for a really long time.
In my opinion, what is the most noticeable in Scotland are kilts. This part of traditional Scotish uniform distinguishes Scots from other men in Europe – also in Poland. Sometimes it can look funny, but I think it is a beautiful tradition.
To sum up, I would like to emphasize that Scotland and Poland are different countries on much levels. Despite the fact, that our culture and habits are sometimes totally different, we are all Europeans and we have a lot in common.

Cracow - city in Poland
Cracow is a beautiful town in Poland, a city wrapped in legend
where every moment becomes a moment of history. Cracow is situating on the south
of Poland, near Wisla River.
If you are visited this city in the spring or summer, the weather will be sunny, so you will need to bring light clothes, sunglasses and hat. If you come in winter, you should bring worm clothes and umbrella. At this time of year it can get very windy and rainy.
There are plenty of places to stay in Cracow, such as hotels. If you are travelling on a small budget, it is best to stay at youth hostel - is cheaper.
There is a lot to see in Cracow. For example, there are the Royal Castle at Wawel and the gothic St Mary's Basilica. During the day you should see Museums and Sukiennice. In the evening, you ought to go to pub or caffee. In the special atmosphere of the beautiful and mysterious streets of the Old Town and Kazimierz you will find everything you need to allow you to escape from everyday life.
If you want to buy a typical sourvenirs, it is best to sourvenirs shops or special galleries.

Parents vs.Children
I think that the problem of quarrels between parents and children has been
existing since the begining of human kind. This problem is known to everybody.
Quarreling between parents and children is so frequent because there is a huge
diference of age between them and because they have different opinions about
most of the things. Parents can not permit their children for everything that
they want to do because they are afraid that we just can not do many things and
we will do ourselves harm. And children can not understand the parents' point of
view, and we quarrel. I also think that we would quarrel much less if we tried
to understand our parents. We can really live without the quarrels with our
parents. I think that our life would be much more comfortable then.
